Data vs Information

About data

Data is defined as being comprised of unorganized, unprocessed discrete facts.

Data can be quantitative - comprised of numbers and based on some sort of measurement. Quantitative data is objective - not subject to an opinion.

Data can be qualitative - this type of data is opinion based and subjective.

Data can be detailed - meaning that facts are available for each component of an entity - such as detailed data about my class would include facts about their age, ethnicity, name etc while a sample would just include some data about some of my students.
